point taken, this IS a contentious election season, and I think even I am getting a little sensitive (kinda lol ) any little utterance is exposed to such scrutiny, even among us funadvice users. I just cant wait til its over the proof will be in the pudding I guess when you said “the hateful slurs that have been spouted by the McCain camp have probably fueled a lot of nuts to try to take action” that it didnt include those two guys. and comments about both pres and vp candidates has gone a little far on both sides but I can remember a lot of anti muslim sentiment in the US right after 9-11 . long before anyone had ever HEARD of obama maybe its not obama but his aquaintances… I mean after seeing him a lot on tv now obama seems like a pretty nice guy.. still wont get my vote tho and that has NOTHING to do with race creed religion cultural background . now unless these two guys say that they are registered republicans, and yelled “kill him” at a rally , then I dont think McCain or his anti muslim rhetoric provided fuel for these particular attacks, or did it? just sick people good job catching them though. I cant wait to hear how they caught on to this…

You’re right, it is damned sad…When I saw this on the news, I was sick…I’m old, and I remember the year I was graduating from high school…both Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther were assasinated…I couldn’t vote, nor was I particularily interested in politics…but I sure remember how sicking the feeling was.

Actually, sigh, this is true and the two whack jobs are from near Memphis, my home. One is from West Helena, Arkansas and the other from Crockett County, Tennessee. Redneck, racist hillbillies. The Feds did not discover the plot, the Crockett County sheriff’s dept. called the Feds in. These are two moronic, white supremists who were discovered by the local sheriff. Horrible, evil idiots. They were going to drive into the crowd towards Obama, wearing tuxedos and top hats and shoot him. There are many crazy, evil people in this world and these are two of them.

I personally dont think any of McCain’s words had anything to do with those guys plotting, and to think it did just kinda feeds to the same rhetoric you think caused it. lets not fuel any more hatespeak than the candidates are, please. also the secret service has been all over those so called ‘kill him” statements, and have concluded that those things were never said. Irrismith, I did not say that the hate and terror filled speeches fueled these two guys. Please reread my answer. These two guys are crazy, skin heads. But there are people that have been inflamed by the hateful atmosphere promoted by talk of muslim-related terrorism associated with Obama. Just read some of the posts on funadvice. Many of the comments about Obama have crossed the line.
