Why is my face swollen after taking a simple pain killer?

Last year I had the same problem with my face swelling. The doctor said it was an allergic reaction and out me on pills, which made me sick for a week and eventually the bump burst and all the inflammation etc came out. A few months after that I took Panadol Cold and Sinus and my face was swollen again. Last night I had a stiff neck from work so I decided to take two advil and the same thing happened again. Today my face and eyes especially the right side is swollen really bad and I feel nauseous all day.

They are all over the counter ones and this never happened to me before only recently. I’ll have to do some research on the ingredients in them

Answer #4

yep.. it does.. but what sucks more is that I have to be at work looking like I have some kind of deformity.

Answer #5

Well my face looks swollen everyday, but I have fat cheeks, lol

Answer #6

It could be an allergy to that certain medicine or to pain killers over all. I would say to contact a doctor and see if he or she can do something about it, and let know you know what it is that you are allergic to.

Answer #7

Lol.. at least you not in pain and afraid to take pain killers for fear of blowing up…lol

Answer #8

I think it might be to pain killers in general, but that really sucks..

Answer #9

My hubby has the same allergic. So he will always tell the doctor that he can not take any kind of analgesic (pain killer) pill. I think you need to be more careful in taking any medication since it could be fatal to your inner organs. If this kind of symptoms appear, you have to go to the same doctor wo gave you the prescription and ask for the neautralizer.

Answer #10

What I find strange is that this is very new, only started happening to me about a yr ago. And all the medicine are over the counter, none were prescribed.
