just be urself and if you feel the urge to defend urself to people and tell the truth then so be it. dont keep too much inside. it will eat you up. eventualy you will have to confront him and tell him “in your dreams you wish!” or “I left you cause you are not and never would be able to fulfill my needs wants and desires, your not man enough, if you continue to talk trash behind my back I will reveal your insecurity and lack of self esteem, you have no real character and you try to build it on lies about me, I feel so sorry for u.”

I had an ex who behaved the same way. Act like you dont care, and ignore it all! He will eventually give up, when he knows its not getting to you.
