Dying highlighted hair

My hair has been highlighted (6 months ago). I have a few inches of growth and my hair is naturally dark blonde. My question is: Can I use Clairol’s Born Blonde? It’s supposed to lift dark shades of hair to light blonde. Do I use it just on my new growth or on my whole head? My ends are very light, but new growth (about 3 inches) is my natural, dark blonde color. I’m just trying to avoid my $150 highlights and trying to do an all over blonde. Thanks!!!

Blonde is such a tricky color to do yourself at home. You can try doing it yourself, but you have to realize that if you are dying on top of another dye, it’s possible that your hair is going to come out 2 different colors, especially with blonde.

I would use a semi permanent first to see how it looks.
