Dwarf hampsters?

Were getting a dwarf hampster in a few days from my brothers friend.

Does this mean it eats less? And what do you feed it?

Answer #1

I think they eat whatever you throw at them, their rodents,

Answer #2

HAHA.. don’t listen to that ^^ seriously your not suppose to feed your hamster ‘human’ food. Go to your local pet store and ask what would be the best food.

Answer #3

Feed it hampster food. There are also store-bought treats. But you can also give it some human food.

Some suggested fruits and vegetables: apples (no seeds!) bananas blueberries broccoli carrots cauliflower cucumber dandelions greens grapes kale peas potato (cooked) romaine lettuce spinach straewberries sweet potato squash

Other treats: whole grain bread or toast whole wheat pasta (cooked) brown rice (cooked) whole grain cereal (no sugary cereal) meal worms crickets or small pieces of cooked chicken bit of hard boiled eggs nuts (no almonds; unsalted) unsalted peanuts pumpkin seeds lentils sunflower seeds plain air popped popcorn (no butter or salt!)

What to Avoid raw beans raw potatoes almonds citrus fruit garlic onions rhubarb leaves or raw rhubarb chocolate any sugary or salty foods any junk food

My hampster LOVED getting human food treats. And as long as you feed the hampster from the above list, it’s healthy. And don’t feed it human food a lot. It’s diet needs to be mostly hampster food.

Answer #4

they eat basically whatever you would feet a normal hamster. I feed them hamster/gerbil food. They eat the same stuff, but just less than you would give a normal sized hamster, because they’re obviously smaller.
