Am I doing the right thing with the duck eggs?

me and my friends were at this river place 2dae with tons of ducks and we found a duckling and 2 speckled eggs beside it the mum wasnt there so we left them 4 like an hour or 2 and came back but she wasnt there so we took them 2 my house and now I have the 2 eggs on a hot water bottle under a light bulb and in a box with a blanket am I doing the right thing and if not what else can I do?? please help

But if she dosn’t, then you should keep them warm, turn them from time to time, NOT TOO WARM though, you don’t want cooked eggs and get them to a “Wild Animal” care center. If you keep them and raise them, they will come back to you every year double in numbers, and the goverment will NOT let you do anything about it, you screwed!! Give them to animal care. You should of just left them there. You can still bring them back and put them in the exact place where you found them because it is just a myth that the mother bird can smell humans. They actually have bad sense of smell. But yeah, bring them back there. The mother was probably stocking up on food for them to eat when they hatch. And it is illegal to take bird eggs in your custody so put them back in the EXACT place you found them so the mother can find them.
