How can tell when a dollar bill is real or fake?

Answer #1

Well, one way is to hold it up to the light, and see if you can see the famous figure’s head as a watermark. Ex. On the 1 dollar bill, George Washington’s head should be watermarked the opposite way he’s facing in print.

Answer #2

:] thanks

Answer #3

no problem! =]

Answer #4

It’s a dollar bill. It would probably be more expensive to duplicate the bill than the bill would be worth. I highly doubt there are fake dollar bills in circulation

Answer #5

it should feel like plastic, not papery. there should also be one of those holograms on it unless in your country they dont put them on small bills (or any bills) a good way is to compare it to another dollar bill you have thats most likley real, or even take it to a bank and ask them

Answer #6

and if u look closley, u should see red/blue fibers

Answer #7

actually its often the lower denominations that are faked… they slip into circulation easier. Also one thing counterfeiters cannot fake is the smell.. I kid you not..

Answer #8

I dont believe dollar bills even have watermarks, that would kind of be silly to do that for such a low amount of currency
