you can’t, but if you brush often you can keep it down, I love the brush called the Furmanatior (spelling) it is a little pricey but works great, got it at Pet Smart, It is also online
You can’t slow it down or stop it, but you can brush it’s coat as listen says, that should keep the hairs from coming out in clumps

Along with the brushing, pick up some Fish Oil caps (or Salmon Oil caps) at Walmart…add one to his food everyday. It takes about 7 to10 days for it to kick in. Omega 3’s decreases shedding, softens the coat, and makes the skin healthy…and it’s very cheap.
