What can be done to get my dog out of the potted plants?

My dog, for some reason, loves to sleep in a pot. The only this is she keeps on digging the dirt out and destroying my dads plant in the process what can be done to keep her out of it? Is there anything I can spray around the pot to keep her away from it ?

Answer #1

is this a small little fluffy white dog?

Answer #2

No its a boxer staffie lab mix so its pretty

Answer #3

fence it?? the plants..

Answer #4

I cant, the pot plant is right next to the house and its on paving. she’ll jump over a fence anyways

Answer #5

I would say hide the plants except for one and spend a lot of time with the dog to teach it to stay out of it until it finally learns.

Hey look at this page it says you can spray citrus fruit, cayenne pepper, and vinegar in there lol!!

Answer #8

OK sorry the link isnt showing but dont pour the vinegar in the plants or it will kill the plants but i have the link i just don’t know how to give it to you

Answer #9

I believe they sell these scented devices that are undetectable to the human nose but make dogs a bit sick. You could put that in the plant. Alternatively, you could have him where an electric shock collar that goes off every time he/she goes near the plant. Painful but that’ll teach him.

Pissing on plants and flowers is in his nature so can’t blame him too much for wanting to do that.

Answer #10

sounds like the dog has to be disciplined!!! but dont spray anythin.. that ll be bad for the dog!!

Answer #11

No, she can’t. We don’t allow our dogs in the house. They have kennels and blankets outside.

Answer #12

I have heard dogs dont like pepper. My cat used to pee in pots, so I made a mixture of water and pepper in a bowl and placed it in the pot, he stayed out of them after that. Im sure it would work for dogs too, it would save you from buying an expensive device or something.Hope this helped =)

Answer #13

Leave the pepper in the bowl tho because if you pour it on the plant it will die… lol
