Dog fights

How do you get a dog to stop bullying the new puppy? its like the dog that I already have is taunting the puppy he runs at it growling and barks right in his face… But I dont think that he ever bit him but its scaring the puppy to death I really would like to find an easy (not harmful to the dog) way to get him to stop any advice???

You also need to stop the older dog as soon as it is getting ready to bark and get in the puppy’s face. this will take time and you will have to do again and again and again until the dog knows that you will not allow this.

hes just jealous. put him away when he acts up like that. I’ve had that problem. You just need to punish them and leave them alone for a while. Keep doing that for a while until her grows on him.

im a dog trainer take the dog thats scared put him in a cage then take the dog that barks and let him snif and when he starts barking scald him and tap or hit on the head and after about 1 week hell stop and look after the other dog

Don’t mistake excitement for aggressiveness…Your older dog doesn’t sound aggressive at all…

When I bring a pup or a new dog into my home, I simply won’t allow that unbalanced behavior…a little when the dog first comes, can be expected just from the excitment…but you are the leader, and it’s up to you to say ENOUGH!

I do like the idea of putting puppy into a crate, so he feels secure, while the other dog has the opportunity to get his curiosity out of the way. It really doens’t take very long for dogs to “partner up”. A couple of hours for 3 or 4 days is all.

I have a German Shepherd…a very large one…our other dog was an elderly Westie…our guests are a Pug and a Toy Poodle…My dog HAD to learn that these are small fragile dogs…and he did, simply because I wouldn’t allow him to get over excited around the small dogs…( over-excitement is what it sounds to me that is going on with your dog).
