Do DJ's like Deadmau5 or Skrillex really mix songs onstage or do they just play them?
So I was watching this live performance of Deadmau5 and it seems like the already recorded song is just being played for everyone to hear, the guy isn’t really mixing or anything. But I have seen times where Skrillex messes up at his concerts but it could be just a technical difficulty? Idk, can someone let me know how that all works? thank you (:

Well, llittle late but i have an answer too :3 Djs obviously dont create the music from the ground up live, no they have a ‘set’ of tracks they assemble based on BPMs (beats per minute) and keys and such that are similar, so transitioning from one track to the next is smooth and un-noticable. Tracks are tampered with during the set to be played to energize the crowd and due to harmonics and sound reverberation against bodies and walls, its a constant challenge to get it just right, but the tracks are preset in order, and the DJs do as much as play with the settings of that track to perfection. :)
