Why are diabetes and arthritis joints contraindicated for a paraffin bath?

Rather than just memorizing diabetes and arthritis joints are contraindications, I would like to know why. Why are they considered to be a contraindication for a paraffin bath?

Answer #1

Heat related treatments are never a good thing if you have a circulatory system issue (diabetes being one example, another would be hypertension or high blood pressure, which can be related to diabetes).

That’s the main reason if you had both diabetes and arthritis, you wouldn’t use a paraffin bath or any other heat pad like treatment.

Answer #2

isn’t diabetes when the pancreas is no longer producing a sufficient amount of insulin.
