Has anyone here ever watched Deliverence?

Has anyone here ever watched Deliverence? If so, what did you think about it? I thought it was a creepy sick(not slang for cool) movie. Also was it based off of true events? I’d cry myself to sleep for a year if it was. Oh, and if you think it is based off something that happend, where did you here that from? Thanks =P

yeah its a cult classic, I’ve never heard of it being based on a true event but I wouldnt doubt it and things like that have happened in this world
