How come we can't delete our questions after the first 15 minutes?

Shouldn’t we have the freedom to delete them ?

It’s not hurting anyone by being there, and it gives the site a more valuable archive. If you wanted to delete it ‘cause you written something wrong or missed something out, you can edit it in the 15 minutes. If it’s ‘cause you’ve changed your mind about asking it, you’ve got 15 minutes to delete it. If you want a question deleted past that then you have the freedom to message Colleen and request that she remove it. It’s not a major problem on here really :/

There’s a few problems with that:

  1. If we allowed users to delete questions, there’s be almost no questions on the site;
  2. Deleting questions with perfectly good answers leaves little for search engines to direct traffic to when people do a search for similar information;
  3. It opens up the ability to abuse people by posting inappropriate questions and answers and deleting them so that there’s no evidence of harm done.
