Should I tell my counsellor

I have depression and am currently seeing a counsellor to help. I started cutting myself last week and I don’t know if I should tell my counsellor. I am living with family friends atm and they don’t have any children but the man saw my cuts and told me he had a hack saw in his shed if I wanted to do it properly. I think I should tell my counsellor what he said but at the same time I don’t know how to say it or what to say? Can someone help please

Answer #1

I will put it simply like this, a closed mouth doesn’t get fed, so yes tell the councilor, if you dont how are they supposed to help. Good luck to ya and hope things get better for you

Answer #2

I think you should talk about it. They may have a different treatment procedure with this new information and you won’t have to feel like you are keeping a secret or hiding something.

Answer #3

Definitely tell them. You can’t get help for your depression/anything if you don’t open up.

Answer #4

I wonder why you are depressed? And what your typical day looks like.
