What would be the consequences of consuming too many laxative pills?

If you’re thinking of using this as some kind of weight loss answer, it’s a very bad idea. Consuming too many laxative pills can cause dehydration, and it will also slow your metabolism down. Your body can also become more dependent on them for bowel movements.

im not trying to use it for weight loss. I haven’t had a proper bowel movement In days so I got laxatives in hopes it will fix the problem but after reading the package I realized I took to many and it said 1 to 3 pills a day not 1to 3 each dose

bad idea. I been constipated for a long time not being able to have a regular movement. I got glycerin suppositories, co-lace pills, and many more. I went to the doc. and said u shouldn’t rely on laxatives otherwise u might have a chronic constipation.

Try Metamucil or benefiber they help me better then those laxative pills.. Other factors that that slow down the colon would be:

* Being inactive,
* Not eating enough fiber.
* Not eating regularly enough to stimulate the intestines to move food along.
* Certain high-protein foods. (eggs, red meat..junk)
* Many prescription dr@gs and even some over the counter vitamin supplements. this includes laxative pills.

I use them once in a while. But fiber consumption is just as good. I take benefibre, ducolax & lactulose. They were all suggested to me by my doctor & they work great.

But I would say benefibre would be better than laxatives because you can consume as much as you want, it has no taste and works probably an hour or two later.

EAT. You probably don’t have enough in you to HAVE proper bowel movement. You need to eat food.

As for the laxatives, don’t. Taking too many laxatives even once can lead to an an*l fissure which you’ll probably need surgery for. Just don’t. Try eating flax seeds, dates, figs and leafy green veggies instead.

Extreme diarreah, some times spots of blood, green poop, something that looks like bile coming out at the teaspoons. You wont loose weight from this unless you’ve been extremely constipated and your bowls completely empty. Try fiber, if nothing comes out or your still skinny, maybe its not your colon…..

You would probably end up detoxing your digestive system, but on the other hand you would be extremely dehydrated depending on how much was taken…
