why want my computer down anything?

Please go to the “startup” button on the lower right hand side of your screen and click it. Then go to “Run” (if you are running windows 7 it is always open as a write box at the bottom of the “startup”). Type in the three letter command cmd and a black box with some typing in it will appear. Type the four letter command ping and a space and the address you are trying ti reach (like, ping www.funadvice.com or ping http://funadvice.com/r/3jssl6vv7q where www.funadvice.com or http://funadvice.com/r/3jssl6vv7q would be replaced with the address you are trying to get too. Then push enter. The command will try to access your address and come back with a set of 4 numbers seperated by dots, this is the sites real address (like 66.135.63.37 or 72.14.204.103) WRITE IT DOWN. Now just go to the place you normally type your address and just type this number and enter(DO NOT type the http:// or the www or anything else, just the number and enter. You should be at your site.

If you are not at your expected site you either entered the wrong address or copied down the number wrong or there really is a serious problem, like the site really is off-line. In any case it is time to make some phone calls. If you want to know who to call to see if the site really is down, contact me and I will tell you how to look that up on the net.

Oh! to close the black window you opened type exit and enter. The window should disappear.
