Clean sap off of car

How do I clean sap off of my car? What would I use? Someone told me to try hairspray but that doesn’t work at all.

You can get a “bug & tar remover” at any hardware store. I recently had to clean my wife’s SUV, and found out hairspray wouldn’t work to clean it, so had to buy this at an automotive store - I think I went to Kraggen.

I usually use regular ole Butter or Gasoline to clean off tar, pitch, sap and other nastiness. One is less harmful to use than the other.
