What's the title of this Civil War song?

Goes something like this There was a young maid (who lived) in a little log cabin just over the hill.” Her sweetheart “joined in the ranks under Robert E. Lee” Last line “To this very day you can stand on the hill where the sound of her singing is echoing still”

Hmmm….not too sure about that one…. sounds like something from the south to glorify and romanticize a rather stupid war that nobody ever seems to remember was started over human rights, tax liability, and the rich deciding using the fate of the poor to their own ends.

However, there are still a whole lot of good-hearted twits in this country that always try to look on the bright side of just about anything. Check out ‘ibiblio.org’ in there folk music index for possibilities to your pro-slave romanticized banjo tune.
