How do you cite personal stories using APA style?

I am doing a speech and i have to cite everything so when i am using a intext citation how do i go about doing that when the story is based on my observation.

Answer #1

In APA style papers, there doesn’t exist such a citation. Reason being is that the citations are references to documents that the audience can look at for more information. A personal experience is just that, personal, so there is no reference to anything. You still have to give intext citations, but you don’t put anything on the References page.

Generally, if the story is personal, but the information is from a previous source, you could cite that source as a reference to your story.
