With a ditto. Go to the daycare, place a ditto and a pokemon to clone and leave them there. You should get an egg after that.

I don’t know about pearl, but in gold, silver, and diamond, you would save your game, go put a pokemon in your PC, then shut the gameboy down while it was still saving.
I think most of the methods for duplicating them were patched up by the creators. To duplicate now, you’d have to use a code device (eg. an Action Replay or GameShark).
