Is it cheaper to buy online than in stores?

Answer #1

Not in general. But it is way easier to compare prices online. So you can comfortably find the cheapest online store. In real stores you have to travel to compare prices.

In online stores, you must also consider the shipping cost part of the price. So if you can buy a shirt at the store for 20 bucks and it will be sold online for 16 with 5 bucks shipping cost, then buying it offline is cheaper.

Answer #2

I get good deals on ebay sometimes, but then some of the sellers try to rip people off by saying it more than it’s worth.

Answer #3

For electronics and computers definitely online. What you need to do first is to go to a place where they will post the deals. Places like http://funadvice.com/r/15d52cbocgt and http://funadvice.com/r/15d52cboet0 most of the stores will have free shipping.

Another problem with buying locally is that even thought you will not pay shipping you will pay for taxes.

Answer #4

Sometimes. http://funadvice.com/r/15e08kn40fn for example offers cashback for every purchase, which is essentially like an extra discount you wouldn’t find in person.
