Is my character a "Mary Sue"?
Okay, so I’ve been wondering if my character was a Mary Sue. I took quite a few tests and they all said she wasn’t a Sue, but I want to make sure since the tests aren’t always accurate. Please please please tell me if she’s a Mary Sue, and what I can do to fix her if she is. Oh, She’s for the One Piece fandom, by the way.
Name: Kisa Age:Eighteen Appearance: She’s short, has short brown hair, dark blueish gray eyes, and usually wears simple and baggy clothing. Personality traits: -Selfless; Always puts others before herself, even if it means she loses out on something. –Hates to see anyone getting hurt, even her enemies. -Shy and reserved, prefers to stay alone than with groups of people. -Over-emotional; Overreacts a lot as well. -Worries constantly about the people she’s close to. -Extremely gullible and will believe /anything/ someone she trusts tells her, no matter how ridiculous. -Cowardly. -Insecure and has no confidence in herself -Doesn’t trust people easily, and always doubts those she doesn’t trust. -Naive -Optimistic and cheerful -Patient with people and rarely gets annoyed/angry. -Kind and caring -Polite and has good manners
So, what do you all think? Is she a well rounded character, or a Mary Sue? Thank you so much for reading this~ <3
I don’t think so. Your character may seem like your run-of-the-mill teenager, but there is a lot in her character that speaks of her capabilities (or lack, thereof) that can help accentuate the story. You may want to try and give her at least one trait - whether it be looks, personality, or secret ability - that can wow people, though, as even though she’s not a Mary Sue…she’s kind of boring.
