Why do cats have whiskers?

I’m curious to know i was staring at my cat and i was like what are whiskers used for in cats.

It helps the cat feel around, wiskers are very sensitive and can detect any small change in temperature or movement. They use it primarily to see whether they can fit through an opening. It also shows you whether he is in a good mood or not, if he is upset he’ll pull it back.
