What is it that makes cats not like water?

I think its weird?

Answer #1

They just don’t like to get wet…can’t really blame them - I wouldn’t want to want to walk around with a wet fur coat for an hour.

Answer #2

I understand, and I did have this cat once and as soon as she heard the water she wud run and jump in the tub or sink!!!

Answer #3

Not all cats hate waters. Those are naturally from hot or tropical area should like water, some even great swimmers. Some from cold area don’t like water. Most cats, however, do hate water because they are protecting their ears from being filled with waters.

Answer #4

Wow ok I thought just about all cats hate water and won’t get in, that shows how much I know lol

Answer #5

interesting question! Yes cats does not like water because they hates getting wet. Cats always love to stay in warm places. My friends cat does not like to take a bath because it feels cold and cats hate coldness. Keep your cat in warm places and it will love you! Meaw

Answer #6

Yeah they love the warmth, my kitty always is sittin in front of the register waiting for the heat to come out

Answer #7

Do you bath when your already clean? They are considered one of the most clean animals and i guess they look at the water like we look at the rain falling and grab an umbrella.

Answer #13

Actually the reason from cat experits and vets is because of the cleaning process afterwards.

Answer #14

Ha well my maine coon and my ginger cat love water, but when i got them i kept them in my bathroom so they were safe but also if they went to the toilet it would be easier to clean up and if dylan (maine coon) hears the tap being turned on he will run to it, and they try to sit in the sink, he also sits in the draining board :/ Im not really sure why others dont like water? MAybe mine are just weird haha

Answer #15

Maybe lol

Answer #16

Not wanting a wet coat for a few hours? Dog hair doesnt seem to absorb water in the same way. My dogs dry out a lot quicker than my cat.

Answer #17

Dogs are active and cats aren’t really. when you bathe a dog he dries quickly because hes super playful. Cats hate coldness they like being warm, and plus once their fur is wet it takes them a very long time to dry up. Cats clean them-self, so water is not necessary for them.

Answer #18

No they don’t, some of the big cat are great swimmers.

Answer #19

Well then I guess I learned something lol
