That was a moral decision that she made in order to ensure an even greater good. She forsook her emotional personal happiness in order to help her husband in his efforts to combat the very great evil that was Nazism. Yes I think that was definitely the right thing for her to do. If I am ever faced with a moral conflict like that, I hope that I will make the right choice. Everyday people can make that kind of choice. Imagine falling in love with a married person and that person has children. From a moral viewpoint, those children’s upbringing and family life take absolute precedence over ANY romantic feeling you may have. Period. (And I do not mean in a religious sense - I am Atheist.)
