Can my pregnant dog have albon?

My pregnant dog has a virus, and I was wanting to know if she can have albon while she is pregnant. But I heard it could give the puppies birth deffects. Wht should I do?

Answer #1

My vet told me that they don’t know if pregnant dogs can take albon or not, and that it has NOT been studied. Either way you should already know by speaking to your vet when your dog was diagnosed.

Answer #2

Why would you give your dog a medication that treats BACTERIAL infections when you state your dog has a VIRUS?

Was your dog diagnosed by a Vet? or you? Take your dog to a Vet.

Albon is used to treat bacterial infections which are quite different than viral infections… and albon should not be used in pregnant or nursing animals.

Answer #3

Ditto Utopia…are you doing your own diagnosis and prescriping?? Ask the Vet what your dog needs, and can take (if anything…all you can do with a virus is supportive health care to prevent other diseases)…
