Answer #1

If the dog gets upset enough to ‘snap’, it will bite.

Answer #2

To the asker: yes, your Mom can take your dog to a rescue while you’re gone. You’re not 18, and she’s likely the legal owner of the dog since she is still your guardian. If the dog does bite, the rescue will either try to have it rehabbed or put it down. I would have the dog stay with a friend, if possible.

Answer #3

No, amblessed, not if it’s trained to become snappy. It doesn’t even necessarily mean the dog is upset. It means that an external stimulus is occurring that is triggering the dog to do something as it was trained to do. There’s no research in your opinion.

Answer #4

My boyfriend has a pitbull. He is the biggest baby I have ever seen. He barks when we play around but it’s not a mean bark. He knows we are playing and he wants to play also. I suggest if you want to keep your dog, keep him somewhere else. If he snaps at anyone while you are away your mom could easily have him put down. It’s harsh but it’s the truth.

Answer #5

He WAS TRAINED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT…HIS BARK IS just TO LET YOU NOE THAT HE IS HERE TO PROTECT ME AND HIS SNAP IS TO LET YOU NOE THAT HE MEANS what HE SAYS…MY QUESTION IS what SHOULD I DO ???

Answer #6

Keep him somewhere else. If your mom says she will take him in, im sure she will. If you don’t have somewhere to take him then take him with you. If you can’t do that then you really don’t have a choice. It doesn’t matter if he was trained by the police. He doesn’t belong to the police anymore. He’s yours. If he snaps, he can be put down. ANd another thing, It doesn’t matter how well trained a dog is, any dog, if it feels threatened in any way, they can bite!

Answer #7

I thought so. Even the sweetest dog will.
