really I have to do all that since when its illegal to record any movie to the vhs there is no doubt people change the laws for their own interests.

Copying is illegal. It tells you that before the movie starts. But who is going to sneak into your home to see what you taped for yourself. Now if you start a movie rental business and tape these and make money from rentals… then you are in deep stuff. There were several Hindi stores around me and they had to shut down because of these illegal copies…They were renting them.

It is probably illegal but in some circumstances such copying could fall under “fair use” and be legal.
