Can I be pregnant if I had sex the day after my menstruation?

I was just talkign with my friend earlier and came across this:

“There is a slim chance that someone could become pregnant at that time. In reality, ovulation happens about 14 days after the last period STARTED. There is a range of 3 or so days (before and after ovulation) where the woman is MOST fertile. By the time that a period is supposed to happen(14 days after ovulation), the egg is probably on its way out of the system. Finally, if the person has a period the next few days then everything is fine.”

and

“It is possible. All women ovulate at different times. You get pregnant during ovulation. –Technically, no it is not, HOWEVER you don’t KNOW when your period will start, even if it has started on the same day of the month for a year. You can only get pregnant after you ovulate. Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from an ovary. This happens once monthly about two weeks after the beginning of menstruation in the average female (but you may be different). Once the egg is released, it travels down the fallopian tube where it may be fertilized by sperm within twenty-four hours of release.”
