lmao you guys are funny.personally I dont really like the california look as portrayed on tv and fake ‘reality’ shows but I do identify with its aspect of laid back and being care-free. my fave color is black but im a beach bum who likes being a lil tan and thinks it looks nice to be a lil tan. I wear casual stuff like jeans and cute cut off shorts with tops and tees and tanks ussually always black.does that make me goth, no! but apparently some people think it does because theyre idiots.im not goth im not a cali girl from cali or a ‘cali’ girl from anywhere.im simply me.

if you like the look that they have then I say go for it. it doesn’t mean that you are trying to be them or your not being yourself like some of these other people say. you just might be inspired by the fashion. You can go to mtv. com where they have the hills and they have videos about the style. lauren even has her own clothing line.

those shows are fake, and they suck anyways

Be yourself. Why try and be someone you see on T.V? The shows are so fake. There are tons of stores to get nice clothes and such. Why change your attitude? You are who you are, be you, not someone you see on T.V. The people you see on those shows don’t even have that attitude, its scripted.

Make sure your hair is professionally styled, long with a few layers.

Get a tan, but not a too dark, just a light, nice tan. Keep natural colors on your nails, but get pedicures in wild, vibrant colors.

Get lots of cute short dresses, a pair of extra dark rinse skinny jeans, one really good oversize designer handbag and one clutch.

Wear make up, especially bronzer, lip gloss, and blush. Short fake eyelashes hold up better than mascara. Make sure your teeth are white.

Get two pairs of boots, one cowboy, the other long or bootie.

Get a pair of good platform heels in black, a pair of lower heeled gold sandals (trust me, it looks great) and cute flip flops.

Always smell good, remove any excess body hair. Keep your eyebrows manicured and get a pair of classic oversized black sunglasses.

You are now ready for your close-up!

lol, well I can honestly tell you, I’m straight out of los angeles, california and NOBODY whos from there actually dresses like that, the shows are totally fake lol.. but anyway.. if you want that style I suggest you shop at places like pac sun and urban outfitters, get some nice jean shorts and a good pair of boot-cut acid wash jeans and just wear a lot of white, yellow, and light pink cute fitted tank tops. shirts from hollister and abercrombie that have CALIFORNIA written all over it is NOT cool. don’t buy that kind of crap. makeup always has to be natural-looking. soft brown shadows with brown eyeliner and black mascara. light pink blush, also.

tanning is actually..not a big thing for the stereotypical california girl believe it or not. but if you want to be tan, absolutely NO ORANGE, you have to definitely natural looking.

the style is basically VERY laid back, natural and comfortable. you’re not even an actual “california girl”.. so just be yourself and work the “canada girl,” because it’s what you are, don’t be labeled as a poser. it’s embarrassing..
