Burn on my face.. continue with aloe or flake off naturally?

Hey guys! So last friday I burnt my face with a curling iron and saturday morning a big purplish bubbly burn appeared across my face I asked what to do and everyone said that I should put aloe gel on it. I did this but its almost a week later and my burn is still there! I asked my mom and she said to stop putting aloe on it and to just let it dry out and flake off on its own, but then I asked my dad and he said to continue putting aloe on it to help it heal. what do you guys think?! thank you :)

ps. I care so much about this because school starts in exactly one week from today and I do NOT want this ugly burn across my face for the first day of school

I vote for continuing with the aloe.

I found that freshly cut aloe is better than the gels or lotions with aloe in them. I just snip a piece of leaf from an aloe vera plant then squeeze the juice out. Sometimes it stings a little but I found that it helps heal burns better than anything else I tried.

whenever I get burnt from my curling iron or flat iron, I just put vaseline on it as soon as I get burnt & then I wait until it drys & flakes off, so I think you shud listen 2 your mom & leave it because I’ve been burnt over 5 times & I look as good as new

For heat burns, immediately immerse the burned skin in cool clean water to relieve the pain. Alternatively, pour cool clean water over the burned area or apply a clean cool cloth. This will relieve pain and reduce swelling and blistering. The burned area may be covered with a sterile dressing and seek medical attention if the burn is severe or covers a large portion of the skin
