What is a good brand for a new laptop?

I have almost all the sims 2 & 3 games installed and a few other games and my laptop is old and running slow, I was going to upgrade it but most of the knobs stick so I’m intrested in getting a new one, I just need some advice please and thank you :)

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 that is build 2003 and still running. I had to change the HD once and I needed a new charger and a new battery. Other than that, all parts are original. So I can assure you that mid-price Toshiba machines are durable.

But then - it really depends on what you need.

Do you want a fast gaming machine or do you play “harmless” games only (harmless by in memory/CPU usage)? Will you carry it around a lot or will it be in one place mostly? Will you need long battery time or will you have a power plug where you use it? Will you need to attach a lot of USB devices? Will you need a large keyboard or will a compact net-book keyboard be fine? Will you want to have a docking station?

Well I keep my laptop one place I don’t move it that much and its just for installing pc games like the sims, tomb raider etc. the battery will always be pluged in so no trouble there and a normal keyboard would do, your laptop sounds good and surly worth it, thank you :)

I mums had a toshiba for 8 years go with any toshiba not awfully bad in price either!

Here is a link with some good gaming lap top it depends on how much you want to spend mostly for about $2,000 though you can get A great gaming lap top that wont give you any issues at all. However you get a decent one for less.
