Squats are the best exercise for the butt. If done correctly squats will tone, firm and tighten the butt muscles all in one giving a slimmer appearance from the hips down. Squats also have the added advantage of toning the legs to give them a more shapely appearance.

Doing Squats and maybe even a few Lunges. But Squats are the best, they tone, firm and slim you from the hips down, and it will give you really slim legs if 8-10 reps are done daily, along with good diet and exercise.
