How do I bond my dog with a new puppy?

My dog is a long haired chihuahua and 11 years old. She is fairly laid back and just sleeps and cuddles for majority of the time unless at meal/play time. She doesn’t get along very well with other dogs and barks at and sometimes lunges at other dogs regardless of training. I have sugar gliders though and at first she was slightly aggressive then became scared of them. The puppy I’m getting is a long haired chihuahua and few months old and from what I’ve heard really likes to cuddle. I don’t know how well the puppy is socialized, although has been around 4-6 other dogs since birth outside the liter. I’m really nervous about them getting along, even though it’ll only have to be for a few years. I’m taking the puppy with me when I move out and my older dog will stay with my parents because I think it’d be too hard on her to go through moving along with other medical problems. But I’d really like to know how to get them to bond better so everyone is happy(:

Answer #1

The more time they spend together the better

Answer #2

well I haven’t meet the same problem before, even my dog and cats can get along very well when they live together, and my dog is very friendly with others, may be because I beat him a log when he is young so he is too timid to bark with others? Anyway, I think sometimes beat and give her a lesson will be good for her remember what can made her comfortable. Don’t let her Too Unruly.

Answer #3

give them time and let them get to know eachother xxx
