Is clear liquid a sign of an infected piercing?

Okay..I don’t think I need to worry or that my belly button is infected but I just want to make sure. I got it done last Tuesday on the 24th. On Thursday I think it was it started to get just a little bit red. On Friday and Saturday it got just a little bit more red but by Saturday the pain was gone. Now today is Sunday and it was really red earlier but now its barely red at all. Its only at the top hole though. The bottom doesn’t even look red from what I can see. There’s no pain anymore unless I bump it somewhere. There’s just a clear liquid coming out from the top. I clean it twice a day with my sea salt solution and wash it with antibacterial stuff in the shower. Should I be worried??

It is infected. I got mine done and it was infected right away. just keep washing it and it will be fine.

Answer #2

Sounds like the clear liquid (exudate) could be a sign of inflammation in the tissue. Just keep cleaning it the recommended amount. In a couple of days if the redness does not go away.. I would take it out and let it heal.

most bellybutton piercings get infected, since it’s always rubbing against your clothes and stuff. mine was for about a month when i got it done, but it takes a really long time for them to completely heal.

just keep washing and cleaning it, you’ll be fine.

itr’s not infected that is perfectly fine, it’s healing itself. if it gets really swollen and you get worried talk to your piercer
