baby guinea pig

I have just bought my little girl a baby guinea pig about 16 weeks old, she loves him but the trouble is he wont come out of his hutch without a fight and I was told that they love to be handled and cuddled and stroked , how do I get him out of his hutch without distressing him ? also when I bought him I wasnt told they they really should be kept in pairs or more as they need the company and can be more freindly, should I buy another little mate for him or is it too late now ? would they fight , I only bought him about a week ago ?

guinea pigs are skittish little creatures and this is very normal I have owned pigs I have 2 right now and I had one before these two and surprisingly the one that was alone liked me more maybe because I was the only friend he had but they don’t need a friend but I think depending on how much you play with the pig will depend on whether or not he should have a friend

ya, maybe get a mate for him. but maybe find a vet for him to get checked up, just in case. hope this helps! bye :)

Hi.

Well, I don’t know much about guinea pigs, but I have a parrot about 2 years now, and he’s really unfriendly (even with me, sometimes)… The vet said that he needs company, and maybe buyin’ a female parrot would do him good.

I heard that guinea pigs DO need company, so you could buy a new one to keep him/her company. It worked for me :3

I don’t think it’s too late… But maybe he’s just gettin’ used to his new home.
