Should they assume a response, if somebody transmits a company?
The company I work for gets at least one curriculum vitae per day sent to us via facsimile, email or personally. We do not have employment ads posted everywhere and we dont have a careers link or something like that on our webpage.
On file many businesses may have a professions link and post on their website careers site they do not respond or acknoweldge unsolicited resumes or queries, and do not keep unsolicited resumes.
If you are able to possess an auto-reply system to free fax to email with “we are not accepting applications at now’, thank you for your interest in —business”, that is typical for some greater organizations and distributes good will.
I worked for a business which received resume by faxes alot and was always told by the HR division to throw the fax resume in the rubbish, because HR just accepted responds to posted job adverts, which needed to be sent to the address in the job advertisement.
