Can I double a dose of my anxiety medication?

I’ve recently started taking medication for my anixety, but it doesn’t work. I started with xanax .25, and that did nothing. So my doctor gave me Valium at 5. That isn’t working either. Now my mom thinks that I don’t need more medication and that this is something that will just pass. I know it won’t, and now I’m stressing more. Is it ok to double a dose? Or is it really dangerous?

Answer #1

I am taking a depressant and anxiety pill. its not healthy to take more than what your doctor told you. go in again and talk to them. they may have to change the meds around a couple times till you find the right one that works with your body. oh. and person whose mom goes with them. its wise to ask she leave. its much easier. beleive me.

Answer #2

it’s hard to do that because my mom is in the room when I talk to the doctor, and she tends to make things awkward and much worse. I hate saying everything when she’s around. it just makes me more nervous.

Answer #3

never double dose, you need to go back and explain these concerns to your doctor. You may want to try medication and psychiatric treatment combined to help you with your anxiety. Be proactive in your health care, and tell your doctor everything no matter how stupid you might think it is, remember they can’t address what they don’t know.
