Hi,

If you rarely get your period, the ripest time for ovulation is harder to come by, which may hamper your attempts at pregnancy. Have you been screened for PCOS? (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

If the Pill did regulate you when you took it, you should keep it in your purse/bag and set a timer on your cell phone or watch. Then you’ll remember to take it.

Also, talk to your doctor about PCOS. Irregular period/difficulty in pregnancy is one of the signs of the condition.

:) Hope that helps.

Having an irregular period may make it more difficult for couples who are trying only because it is harder for them to keep track of when the woman is ovulating.

It does not necessarily mean you are incapable of getting pregnant or do not need birth control though. If you do not want to get pregnant, you need to use birth control every time. Just because you have not gotten pregnant yet does not mean that you won’t or can’t.
