Why do a lot of people like Hello Kitty?

I dont understand it. I dont find her cute in any way and when teenager girls have shirts, bags, and other hello kitty merchandise they look childish and silly.

But look at the thing! It’s sooo cute with it’s whiskers and pinky thingie! :)

because cute things are popular, cats are popular and pink is very popular, add them together and you get a cute thing that is adored by lots of people. especially overweas where it all started

I love hello kitty. But me being 20 and live with my fiance, it prevents me from wanting the curtians, bedding, door knobs, dresser drawers, tv, alarm clock, pillows, car and bathroom acessories and even toasters all Hello Kitty. I do have a little collection tho.
