How is IT a good career move?

Lots of people are very jaded with IS/IT these days. Back in the 1990’s IT workers were in high demand so it was easy to find a good job, wages and perks were generous, and most got nice raises every year. Now lots of IS/IT professionals are unemployed or changed careers, wages are stagnent or declining, and the prestige of this industry has plumeted (IS/IT is seem more as a cost to be cut than a resource to drive business).

All this said it still can be a good career choice. There is a saying, there is always room at the top. If you really like IS/IT and are really good at it than it still could be your best bet. It is more important to go into a field you like than to go into a field thinking it will be a good paycheck.
