Abdominal Pain during sex

Basically, hurting was never a factor when I had sex with my boyfriend in the past. Though a bit more than a week ago my boyfriend and I tried to have sex but couldn’t continue because any deep penetration would hurt really bad for me. He used to all the time, didn’t hurt what so ever. How/where exactly did it hurt? Felt like severe cramps (enough to make me cry) in the lower right side of my tummy. Considering I got my period the next day, I thought it could have been just related to that.. mestrual pains. After my period we tried it again, and it still hurts. It doesn’t hurt as much but is still uncomfortable when he first goes in, but when he tries to go deeper it hurts. Could he just be touching the cervix? If so, is it supposed to hurt like that? Cause lately it pretty much feels like where he can’t penetrate any deeper. I don’t get why all of a sudden it’s hurting.

Also, we’ve had a relationship for 11 months now and have never had sex with anyone else. I also don’t see how it could be a possible symptom of an STI/STD like chlymidia.

Hi there,

If the pain is sharp or there’s tenderness around the navel or on the right side of the abdomen, it could indicate appendicitis (in which case you’d probably have a slight fever too), but it may also be a sign of a ruptured ovarian cyst or ovarian torsion.

If it’s more of a sharp ache, it could be an ectopic pregnancy, which can be life threatening.

I would suggest you go to the doctor ASAP to get this figured out. My sister has ovarian cysts and it causes her extreme pain.
