A little egg, what is it?

I found an egg and I wondered if anyone knew how to tell if it is fertilized or just a dud? I held it up to the light and it looks mainly yellow inside.

it is particularly small in size and it is white. I think it may be either a mourning dove egg or a white zebra finch egg. I have a feeling it is a finch egg more than the dove.

I would apprectiate it if someone could help me with this =D

thank you!!! -ashers!-

Answer #1

you found it outside? This time of yr eggs /chicks have already hatched..most likely a dud..if it was fetilized, its most likely dead.

Answer #2

I looked it up on google..

“It is almost impossible to determine if an egg is fertile without first incubating it for several hours.”

so chances are, even if it was fertilized, it probably died long before you found the egg.

Answer #3

wow cool id keep it for a few days if it does not hatch throw it out
