7wk pup sprayed with flea spray by its breeder

I just purchased a toy rat terrier yesterday, when I picked her up the breeder, sprayed her with flea spray! Im worried she was a lil disoriented last night, I gave her another bath with mild dog soap to try and wash it all off, this morning she was up and running around. She is Only 7wks, What should I do? Or signs to look for if she is sick?

Answer #1

If she seems to be doing well this morning, then maybe you managed to get it all off. Keep an eye on her, and be ready to take her to the vet at a moment’s notice if she starts acting strange.

I have a little concern for any breeder who would actually spray a 7 week old pup with flea spray…I suggest you call animal rescue and report this woman. She apparently has no idea what she’s doing and shouldn’t own a dog - period.

Answer #2

From what you said, it seems all is normal. I agree with ichi, the breeder should clearly not have dogs if s/he does something like that.

Just keep an eye on your pup. If s/he becomes lethargic, refuses to play or eat, or becomes bad tempered (Guessing your pups usual temprement is happy), then take him/her to the vets asap.

Answer #3

good job with giving the puppy a bath with mild soap, that breeder does not have good head on there shoulders, I would even bath her one more time and watch for any odd symptoms, Call your vet and get her first vist ready to get her vaccines stared, good luck

Answer #4

well its a puppy so it should be full of life unless it is too hot but it should be sick from flee stuf but just keep you eye on it.
