What does that saying about reaping and sowing mean?

Answer #1

Do you mean “You reap what you sow”? Basically, sow means to plant and reap means to gather. It’s an idiom that says that you get what you give. It means that if you work hard, you’ll reap good things; if you don’t work hard, you won’t get any benefits.

Answer #2

What you put into things is what you get out. You will get lots out of something if you put lots of effort into it- so you will get the good grades you want if you are prepared to work for them, and so on.

Sowing is planting and reaping harvesting, so literally, what you plant is what you will harvest. So put lots into something and you can expect lots of reward back, whether physically or emotionally.

Answer #3

It’s not only about the effort of hard work and its returns. It also means that if you sow kindness (by being kind to others), you will reap (receive) kindness, etc. It means there is a moral order in the world; in another tongue, karma.

Answer #4

Essentially, you get back what you give. If you planted some seeds and forgot about them, they probably wouldn’t even grow, or would grow to be average or poor plants. If you tended to them everyday, you’d get strong trees that could then provide, food, shelter, firewood etc. If you had a child but neglected him, he’d grow up with no interest in knowing you. If you loved and cared for your child, giving him everything you can, he’d grow up with nothing but respect for you and love and care for you back in your later years. This also works with friendships, if you are kind, you will receive kindness back (hopefully… I can’t really guarantee that with this generation haha).

Answer #5

what you sow, you shall reap means: what you give, is what you will receive in return. so depending on how much you give, it’ll be what you get back.

Answer #6

Like karma?

Answer #7

It means everything you throw out there in the universe will come back to you good or bad. It depends on your intention and your actions.
