The Farr Best Theater was built in 1917. In 2007, the theater was restored to its original glory by the Meadows family. The theater provides an intimate, 153-seat venue with outstanding acoustics and state-of-the-art sound, lighting and AV systems. The theater regularly hosts bands from across Texas, and it also hosts a music showcase, the Farr Best Opry, three Saturdays per month.
Each October, the Mansfield Music & Arts Festival brings thousands of people together to enjoy concerts by bands from across the Metroplex and Texas. Main Street is blocked off to vehicular traffic in the Historic District, stages are erected, and dozens of local restaurants, shops and businesses set up temporary booths for this two-day celebration.
An area of historic buildings, now occupied by boutique shopping and dining establishments as well as the offices of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and the Mansfield News-Mirror newspaper. The historic Farr Best Theater is located in this district.
