About Eco Timber
Who we are
At Eco Timber, we are proud to be one of the leading suppliers of Charred Timber Cladding in Melbourne, Australia. Our team at Eco Timber Group has been at the forefront of the charred timber market for over the last 10+ years. We have established the first commercialized charring line introduced to the architectural market, setting high standards for charred timber cladding suppliers. Our dedication to quality and sustainability sets us apart from the competition.
What we Do
We specialize in Shou-Sugi-Ban, also known as Yakisugi Cladding or Charred Timber Cladding, which is a traditional Japanese method of charring timber to preserve it for long-term use. Our process involves using real flames to burn the surface of our 120mm or 72mm shiplap cladding, forming a carbon layer on the exterior of the boards. This not only protects the timber and reduces maintenance but also offers a unique and organic finish that cannot be replicated by paints or stains.
We manufacture all our charred timber products in-house using only Australian sourced timbers. We support local mills to help keep our local industry alive and reduce our carbon footprint. Our products are made from Class 1 Bal 29 Australian Timber, specifically Red and Grey Ironbark or Spotted Gum, which have been tested to be the best options for charred products in terms of durability and stability.
Why you should use us
When you choose Eco Timber Group for your charred timber cladding needs, you can expect high-quality products that outperform the competition. Our team of experts has been with us since the beginning, ensuring that every project is delivered with precision and excellence. Our Shou-Sugi-Ban charred timber maintains a black charred finish even if scratched, thanks to our unique charring process that penetrates up to 3mm into the surface of the timber.
Our charred timber cladding is less susceptible to weathering, fading, and insect attacks compared to other traditional finishes. All our Bal 29 Class 1 timber is fire-resistant, making it suitable for almost every type of construction. Whether you are working on a community project, high-end architectural project, or designer residential home, our charred timber products will add a touch of elegance and sustainability to your build.
