Why has my dog all of a sudden starting pooing in the kitchen?

My border collie, who is one now these past couple of weeks, whenever we we’re out we come back to a little accident in our kitchen. We let her out for however long she wants to go out for, and make sure she has been before we leave her. we take her on plenty of walks. We thought she was trained to not go in the house as she doesn’t ever. but its just the past two weeks she has done every night, its driving my dad mad. I think it has just become a habbit, but im unsure of what to do. thankyou :-)

It’s not a habit…yet. Some people think it’s a protest to being left behind…I lean towards anxiety at being left. You know how when you get nervous, you sometimes feel like you have to go to the bathroom? Dogs don’t have the social restraint that we have, so when it feels like she’s got to go, she does.

I’d crate her for a couple of weeks (with a toy, or a kong…something to keep her occupied) when you leave, to get her past the idea that it’s ok. She might also feel more secure crated…

Worth giving it a try…

my pit bull was the same way she was two years old and when we took her to th vet tshe had some type of worms that was deadly and there was no treatment the worms just gave her the urge to go and she couldnt hold it so they had to put her to sleep :’( but since shes only one.. she might be doing that because she sad and wants a lot of attention when you get back but just take her to the vet b.cit might be something or nothing at all..
