Teenagers, what do you think about the future?

I’m doing a project about what teens think of the future and it would be REALLY helpful if you could answer a few questions:

Food packaging is pretty bad right now. Things are individually wrapped and it causes a lot of trash. Do you think this will get better or worse in the future? Why?

Currently the U.S. imports a good amount of it’s food from other countries. This causes pollution as well as inconvenience. Do you think we’ll stop? Or will there be more?

Will genetically modified food (GMF) advance? Will we start using it more? Where will that go?

Will commercial farming in the U.S. expand or decrease?

Currently there is a food shortage in the world. There is literally not enough food to go around. What’s going to happen? How?

  1. I think that it will get better in the future because since we already know that this is a problem, whoever is in charge of this will find a way to decrease it. we are finding new and easier ways of doing things, eventually, someone will discover a way 2 control this problem.

2.I think that we wont stop because the U.S. is a melting pot, there are many different ethnicities and they like to have foods from their native countries and try foods from other countries. it would be bad if they had 2 go bac 2 their country 2 feel like the’re home. there will probably be more.

3.GMF will probably increase because since it is just beginning, like cloning, it is not sure 2 stop anytime soon. It is probably A LOT easier than raising the animals.

  1. commercial farming will probably decrease and be replaced with a more efficient form because it is becoming outdated. farming was used when the U.S. first was formed. as the U.S. turns more and more to the world of technology, it will find an alternative for commercial farming.

5.I think that the U.N. will develope a plan, eventually, to end world hunger. they will find a way 2 grow food quickly and distribute it throughout the world. hopefully.=D

*Food packaging is pretty bad right now. Things are individually wrapped and it causes a lot of trash. Do you think this will get better or worse in the future? Why?

I think it could go either way. With things becoming more “green” as we all like to call it, I suppose it is possible that packaging will be reduced… but, then again, you never know… everyone nowadays is so fixated on convenience (bottled water, prepackaged/washed veggies, single serving chips, crackers, etc.) and that just may get worse because it is sure as heIl a great way for companies to make money.

*Currently the U.S. imports a good amount of it’s food from other countries. This causes pollution as well as inconvenience. Do you think we’ll stop? Or will there be more?

Again, with “green living” becoming more popular, there is a chance that buying local foods will become more popular… but then again, how long will that last and do people really care enough to give up having certain things when they’re not in season?

*Will genetically modified food (GMF) advance? Will we start using it more? Where will that go?

I have a feeling that that may change… negative effects are being provided (on people, animals, insects, soil, ground water, etc, etc.) so I think that people may begin to use it less.. especially now, since organic food is more available.

Will commercial farming in the U.S. expand or decrease?

I think it will stay about the same… but I think that a good majority of commercial farms will go organic because the demand for organic foods is rising.

*Currently there is a food shortage in the world. There is literally not enough food to go around. What’s going to happen? How?

I think that Americans are going to have stop being so greedy. We are the problem. There are starving people in Chili who are growing fruits and veggies for us but hardly can feed their families…

-sorry this isn’t very long, I filled it in as best I can but I have homework to get to now.
